Tic Tac Toe is a simple game: play against the computer, pass-and-play locally, or play someone else on the same Wi-Fi network. This policy explains, in plain terms, the little data that moves around when you do any of that.
No accounts, no servers, no data collection by usThere’s no sign-up, no user database, and no backend server run by the developer that your games are sent to. Local and computer-opponent games never leave your device. Local network (LAN) games are sent directly between the two devices playing — never through us or anyone else.
Ads are served by Google AdMobThe Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, which can collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads. This is the only third-party data collection in the app. Details below.
Your moves, scores, and settings for offline games (including games against the built-in AI) stay on your device, in the app’s local storage. Nothing about these games is transmitted anywhere.
When you host or join a game over Wi-Fi, the app opens a direct connection between the two devices on your local network. The only information exchanged is:
None of this touches a server operated by us or by any third party — it goes directly from one device to the other over your own network, and it isn’t saved once the match ends.
The Android app uses Google AdMob to show banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads (for example, an ad you can choose to watch for a hint on Hard difficulty). To do this, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
Where required by your region (for example under GDPR), the app shows a consent prompt before requesting personalized ads, provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform. You can decline personalized ads there; AdMob may still show non-personalized ads. Google’s own use of this data is governed by their policies:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet | Loading ads, and sending/receiving LAN game moves |
| Access Wi-Fi state | Finding your device’s local IP address so it can host or join a LAN game |
| Access network state | Checking network connectivity for LAN play |
We don’t operate a server or database for this app, so we don’t retain any of your data ourselves — there’s simply nowhere for us to store it. Any data collected by Google AdMob is retained and managed according to Google’s own policies linked above.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us using the details below and we’ll address it.
If this policy changes, we’ll update the “effective” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
